I'm Kreativ!

I received the Kreativ Blogger Award from my pal Herman. I'm so honored to receive this award!

There are special rules that I must follow after accepting this award. I must share 10 things about myself that you all may not know about me. I must also pass this award onto 6 other Kreativ Bloggers.

Here are ten things you may not know about me:

  1. I have no front claws. My previous owners, whoever they were (I don't remember) had them removed. This is one of the many reasons I'm never allowed outside.
  2. My mom gives me my FVRCP vaccine so I don't have to visit the vet. I'm very grateful because the vet's office smells like strange animals. I only have to go for a rabies vaccine when I need it.
  3. When my dad sits down to watch tv, I curl up on his lap and go to sleep. I rarely do that with mom for more than a few minutes at a time, even though I love her lots and lots.
  4. I love to catch mice. We have a really old house so mice come in from time to time. Not only do I catch them, I LOVE TO EAT THEM! Mom sometimes finds dead mice with their heads missing or with bites out of them. The only reason she's ever found any remnants was because she interrupted my meal.
  5. If my mom is working on the computer, doing important things (like tweeting for me or working on one of her books), I always sit nearby and supervise to make sure she's doing everything correctly. She just cannot do it without me.
  6. I don't get people food to eat. Not ever. Mom says I could get pancreatitis if I eat people food. Whatever that is. It sounds like it may warrant a vet visit, so I'm good with that. I'll eat my cat food, thank you. Besides, Mom and Dad are (almost) vegetarians so they eat weird things like tofu and rice cheese. I'm not eating that stuff. Once, I smelled Dad's plate (vegan lasagna) and I tried to cover it up because it smelled like what's in my litterbox. Mom was not amused.
  7. Our old house has transom windows over the upstairs bedroom doors. Mom used to leave them open for ventilation. She shut them after I jumped up on the ledge and jumped down into one of the rooms that was off-limits. Maybe she shouldn't designate rooms as being off-limits. Just a thought.
  8. I'm a very quiet kitty. I have a meow but I only use it if I'm being ignored or if I've been told 'NO' about something that I've done wrong (subject to interpretation, naturally).
  9. I've always been allowed to sleep in the bedroom with Mom & Dad (and Jaycee, of course). I like to stretch out against Mom's legs and sleep there. She doesn't like it when I wake her up at 5:43 am with the Truman Thigh Nibble, but she still lets me sleep in the bedroom.
  10. I'm not very social with people. They can look at me and maybe touch me (depending upon my mood) but they better not try to pick me up!

I Received an Award!!!

First of all, I'm lowering my head in shame because I received this award from my pawsome friend Herman @Tattlecat (check out his wonderful blog HERE ) and I was so busy with Anipal Prom stuff that I haven't had time to properly acknowledge it until now.

I received the Sunshine Award. Isn't it gorgeous? It's my first award!

I looked on Herman's BLOG and on my friend Emma's BLOG and found this information

The Sunshine Award is awarded to "bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere." As an award winner, there are a few rules I need to follow:

· Thank the person who gave this award and write a post about it.--Done!
· Answer the questions below--Done!
· Pass on the award to 10 fabulous bloggers, link their blogs, and let them know you awarded them--Done!
One thing that I noticed about the questions to be answered-they were more human in nature, so they don't really pertain to us anipals. While I was pondering my answers I looked at Herman's blog and saw he came up with some pawsome questions that are more appropriate. I'm sure he won't mind if I use them (giving him full credit, of course!).
Here's the questions and my answers:

· Favorite place to sleep--on Mom's and Dad's bed, curled up against Mom's legs.
· Favorite human--My Mom, because she lets me sleep in the bedroom, she does all my typing, and she loves me lots and lots.
· Favorite fur-sib--I only have one, so Jaycee.
· Favorite memory--When I was chosen from all the other kitties at the shelter to come and live with Mom and Dad.
· Canned or kibble--Kibble, I guess...well, I've never had canned, because it's saved for when a kitty is sick or they're not eating normally. Maybe I should go on a hunger strike and change my answer?
· My passion--I love to roll in catnip. I get it all over me and then go and roll on the bed. I like to share.
· I get in trouble when--I do my infamous 5:43 a.m. thigh nibble to wake Mom up. I don't do it so much now but sometimes I get really hungry.....
· If I had opposable thumbs I would--Get my own computer and type whenever I want. I would write novels and become a gazillionaire *sighs*
· I get sick when--I eat Jaycee's fur. It's so pretty that I can't resist. It's like soft kibbles. Then I get hairballs and I throw them up, usually where Mom steps on them with her bare feet and they go squish.
Here are the pawsome blogs that I awarded with the Sunshine Award:

I Went to the Anipal Prom!!!!

As you know, I was part of the prom committee for planning the Anipal Prom on Twitter Friday, June 8. You can see my prom blog here http://www.anipalprom.blogspot.com/

I've never been to a prom. I really wanted to though! I asked this very beautiful girl kitty on Twitter, Mitten @mittenkitty, to be my date. She said yes!!!

On prom night, I got all dressed up. I was really nervous!

Several friends decided to ride together to the prom. We rented this limo for the evening:

I presented Mitten with a corsage to match her beautiful dress:

She gave me a beautiful boutonniere:

We made quite the handsome couple on prom night:

We shared a delicious seafood platter for dinner:

We sipped Moonlight Niptinis under the twinkling stars:

We danced and talked and had a lovely time. We even had official prom pictures taken:

At the conclusion of the evening, it was such a lovely night that I asked if I could walk Mitten home. I walked her home and told her how much I had enjoyed the evening. I gave her a kiss on the cheek and told her I hoped to see her again soon.

I went home to dream about my wonderful first date and about the beautiful Mitten.

I made sure I telephoned her the next day to tell her what a wonderful time I had, because my mom taught me that boys who don't call the next day are just mean.

Thank you, beautiful Mitten, for a lovely evening.

Love, Truman xoxoxo

Mouse in the Bed!

Okay. It was Friday morning. I did my usual thigh nibble to wake mom up at 5:43 am. She got up, used the people litter box, fed us, and went back to bed so she could wait for the 6:30 alarm.

About fifteen minutes later, she awakened to the sound of a cat pawing the mattress. She opened one eye and saw it was Jaycee, at her feet. Mom reached down, fearing Jaycee had peed on the bed and was trying to cover it up. She didn't find any pee but her hand touched something small, furry, and warm.

Yep, it was a mouse. It looked just like this, except it was kinda, uh, dead. Freshly dead, so it would taste really really good:

Mom yelled to Dad to wake up and take care of it. Dad rolled over, pulled the covers over his head, and mumbled something about "you were the one that let the cats sleep in the bedroom" and left it for Mom to deal with.

Now, Mom's not scared of mice or anything so she didn't have a problem with picking it up; she wanted Dad to take care of it because she wanted JUST 45 MORE MINUTES OF SLEEP!

After a few minutes of listening to Dad's snores, Mom picked up the mouse and confirmed that it was, indeed, dead. Jaycee sniffed it and looked very unhappy because she knew, from past experiences, she was going to lose her furry toy.

Mom threw the mouse away and decided to forgo her last ninteen minutes of sleep.

I can tell you're totally jealous because you don't live in a 111 year old house where mice wander in for playtime.

I laid on Dad's dresser throughout this early morning drama. I had nothing to do with any of it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Humans, u got some 'splaining to do....

Okay. Mom has decided she wants to have another yard sale. I'm not understanding this concept.

First, a yard sale implies that one is selling A YARD. She's had two previous yard sales and no one bought the yard. So why is it called a yard sale?

Second, if she and dad didn't accumulate so much STUFF, they wouldn't need to waste time sorting it, cleaning it, pricing it, and putting it out in the yard that's not for sale so they can sell it for approximately 25% of what they paid for it. Cats just don't do this. Besides, this gives her more time to avoid the housework that she neglects to do anyway.

Third, what's she gonna do with all this money she makes from the yard sale? Will she buy treats for me? Quality catnip? A new bed? Oh no. She will probably go and buy useless human stuff that she will one day decide she doesn't need anymore. See above.

Thinking about all this makes me tired. Think I'll go and take a nap.

Food: It's all about the eats

First of all, I'm sooooo mad at my typist for taking so long to post. Gonna have to either cut her pay or find a new typist.

I'm curious. What types of food do you all eat? Do you eat dry or canned? What brands? Inquiring minds want to know.

Finally!

Well, I cannot believe it. I finally made mom sit down & help me with setting up my blog. It still needs lots of tweaking but it's here. Finally. I proudly join the virtual world of blogging felines *pauses to listen for the sound of applause*

So. That task is done. Now what? Now I gotta blog. What shall I talk about? My feline sexiness? My catnip addiction? The latest count of my paper balls strewn all over the house? How much I wish I could find a REALLY GOOD TYPIST who would do nothing but sit at the desk 24/7 and handle my social networking obligations?

Seriously though, I'm really excited about this. I have my own blog. Pulls out bucket list, finds "start personal blog." Check!
